With how we are currently experiencing the detrimental effects of climate change, companies, entities and government offices alike are taking collective actions to mitigate these effects and encourage everyone to share the responsibility of following sustainable practices.
D&V Philippines is one with this advocacy as we have recently implemented Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) changes into our organizational processes. These ESG initiatives aim to reduce our environmental impact while maintaining the quality of our services and our overall operational efficiency.
As a company with a permanent hybrid work-set up, most of our environmental impact can be done through our Information Technology (IT) and our Facilities Management. In these two departments, we have integrated green and sustainable practices to make sure that our operations align with our environmental goals.
Sustainability within our IT Department
As a company that belongs to the field of finance and accounting, our IT Department is tasked with not only giving us the tools we need to provide quality services but in securing and storing all the information given to us by our clients as well as our own internal data. With this, our IT department has taken strides in adopting sustainability and reducing our company’s carbon footprint and environmental impact.

How do they do this?
Our IT department was able to successfully shift our company processes and data management to the cloud, reducing the need for physical hardware – thus lessening the environmental impact of our storage and data management.
Aside from this, our IT department advocates for sustainable device management. This means that all devices and assets issued to employees are set up to last with proper care and can be repurposed for other tasks or employees should the time come. This lessens our technological waste while also making sure we are responsible for the assets that the company provides for us.
Sustainability within our Facilities Department
When it comes to sustainability, our Facilities Management Department is taking the forefront in our efforts to become more sustainable and eco-friendlier. True to our commitment and integration of ESG practices, our facilities department has helped in making sure our resources are allocated efficiently within our physical spaces and that we reduce our carbon footprint.
Through the facilities management’s sustainable practices, D&V Philippines is able to reduce the environmental impact made by our physical office.
How do they do this?
As a hybrid workplace, D&V Philippines provides a free meal for our employees when they do have to work on-site. As the facilities department helped with this initiative, they have implemented waste reduction strategies, such as recycling programs and reducing single-use plastics.
Aside from this, our energy use within the office is closely monitored and optimized – making sure we are not unnecessarily consuming electricity as we don’t have to. With this, the facilities department has processes in place to centralize our electricity consumption with our HVAC systems and ventilation systems to prevent overconsumption and/or tampering.
While our IT department and facilities management department have already made significant changes to help with our commitment to become more sustainable, D&V Philippines acknowledges that there is more to be done to help battle climate change. With this, we are continuously adopting green and sustainable changes into all our company processes, hoping to eliminate any unnecessary environmental waste and keeping our consumption to a minimum.
As the world increasingly moves toward sustainability, companies such as us must adapt. For D&V Philippines, adopting Green IT and eco-friendly facilities management is a step toward creating a more sustainable, resilient, and efficient organization. By leveraging these practices, D&V Philippines can reduce its environmental impact while maintaining operational excellence and ensuring long-term success.
In today’s time, it is clear that sustainability is no longer just an option – but a need for a company to survive and thrive. By embracing Green IT and eco-friendly facilities management, D&V Philippines can lead by example and contribute to a more sustainable future.
