Here are Australia’s public holidays and other regional holidays for 2020.

Some of these holidays may be observed differently across the Australian territories, namely, Australian Capital Territory (ACT), New South Wales (NSW), Northern Territory (NT), Queensland (QLD), South Australia (SA), Tasmania (TAS), Victoria (VIC), and Western Australia (WA).

Australia’s national public holidays include New Year's Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. All other public holidays such as the Queen's Birthday and Labour Day are declared by the state and territory governments.

MON, 27 JAN – Australia Day (As 26 January falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is observed in all territories; 26 January is still a holiday in SA)

MON, 2 MAR – Labour Day (WA)

MON, 9 MAR – Canberra Day (ACT), Adelaide Cup Day (SA) Eight Hours Day (TAS), Labour Day (VIC)

FRI, 10 APR – Good Friday

SAT, 11 APR – Holy Saturday (Except TAS)

SUN, 12 APR – Easter Sunday (ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC)

MON, 13 APR – Easter Monday

TUE, 23 APR – Easter Tuesday (Restricted public holiday in Tasmania. Observed by some awards/agreements and the State Public Service)

SAT, 25 APR – Anzac Day (Restricted trading hours in Victoria)

SAT, 27 APR – Anzac Day Holiday (WA), Public Sector Holiday (ACT)

MON, 4 MAY – May Day (NT), Labour Day (QLD)

MON, 1 JUN – Reconciliation Day (ACT), Western Australia Day (WA)

MON, 8 JUN – Queen's Birthday (except QLD and WA)

MON, 3 AUG – Bank Holiday (NSW); Picnic Day (NT)

WED, 12 AUG – Royal Queensland Show (Brisbane, QLD)

FRI, 25 SEP – Friday before AFL Grand Final (VIC)

MON, 5 OCT – Labour Day (Australian Capital Territory, NSW, South Australia)

TUE, 3 NOV – Melbourne Cup (A public holiday across all of Victoria unless alternate local holiday has been arranged by non-metro council.)

THU, 24 DEC – Christmas Eve (NT)

FRI, 25 DEC – Christmas Day

SAT, 26 DEC – Boxing Day (NSW, Queensland, Victoria)

MON, 28 DEC – Boxing Day (Also observed as an additional holiday in NSW, Queensland, and Western Australia), Proclamation Day (South Australia)

THU, 31 DEC – New Year’s Eve (NT, South Australia)
